My Story
I wrote the About Me page for my wheatgrass site five years ago and the one for the rebounding / health articles / weightvest site about six months ago. It's funny to see how my life keeps on changing. I feel that I am in an accelerated learning phase right now. This version of my story will mostly be concerning my health challenges and how I overcame them since health is what this site is about.
I was robustly healthy from the time I arrived in this country at the age of 18. I left my sickly childhood behind and started fresh. I was a dynamo of energy although often that was fueled by sugar. But I had a healthy blend of physical, mental and creative work through most of my life, doing pottery and always gardening, building things and remodeling houses. I was even congratulating myself on sailing through menopause unscathed.
Then a series of emotional losses when I was about 55 left me wondering if life was worth living. I think most of us come to that place at some point in our lives and I think it is the larger cause of many huge health issues. My lack of zest for life eventually manifested itself in Candida.
I had recently moved into a mobile home near the ocean that had mold problems, although that is hindsight. So, when I was diagnosed with Candida I went on the forums and found out that people often had this rotten feeling for years and it kept coming back and often led to worse things. I determined that wouldn't happen to me and went on the strict Candida diet.
I then discovered that I had Diabetes and Osteoporosis as well. I was immediately offered drugs for a lifetime and the doctor thought me irrational when I turned them down. All these health problems seemed to trigger mercury poisoning from all the old fillings I had put in as a child. There was so little food that I could eat that I went down to 100 lbs and I looked very sick. If you have seen the pictures of that guy who sells the Makers Diet books, I was like the before picture. I looked about 70.
Gradually, over the rest of my fifties, I got better. Wheatgrass was the beginning of that, and my improved diet. Step by step, small miracles, I worked my way back to health. Then, on my 60th birthday I consciously decided to lay the past to rest and start a new life of health and wellbeing. I was determined that this would be my best decade yet. I was reclaiming my power over my life that I had mislaid before. This wasn't the life I had in mind, but it was the one I had, and I would make the most of it.
The difference this decision made in my inward and outward life has been astounding. Good things started to come my way on all levels. That's where I am now. I have a new vision of my future that is incredibly vivid and joyful, that includes radiant health. The osteoporosis has already reversed to merely osteopenia. Now I intend to gain a bit more weight while healing the insulin resistance. I want to look as good as I feel.
My powerful intent now is to find a easier way for people to release sickness and regain wellness in their lives. We are creatures of energy first, matter second. When the energy of wellbeing is alive in you, anything can be overcome. My Inner Wisdom knows how to create wellness; it did so for years. I have to let it know clearly and consistently exactly what I want and it will create it fully again.
Then I will start on rejuvenation. I will get biologically younger and fitter as I get physically older - but not from the chemical cocktails they sell on rejuvenation sites. By the power of mind, body and Spirit working together. The knowledge is available. It will happen in my lifetime. I'm ready for that.
